Help Meir's Family Stay in Their Home
Created by Lior Levi:
Meir, my 10-year-old nephew, is facing the fight of his life. While at the dentist, Meir contracted the pneumococcal bacteria, which made him incredibly ill. By the time doctors discovered the cause, the bacteria had already caused severe damage to his heart valve. Now, Meir needs lifesaving open heart surgery on Tuesday, and his family is struggling to hold everything together.
Meir is one of six children, and their grandmother, who is dependent and disabled, also lives with the family. His father, Kobi, is disabled due to PTSD from his IDF service and a chronic back injury, making it impossible for him to work. Unfortunately, the Israeli government does not recognize Kobi's PTSD and injury as a disability, so the family receives no funding or support from the state. The family has fallen into significant debt and is now at risk of losing their modest home—a small two-bedroom basement apartment—right when their son needs them most. Chani, Meir's mother and the primary earner, has been unable to keep up with the growing cost of living while caring for Meir and supporting the family through this crisis. Every day is a battle, not just for Meir's health, but for the stability and safety of their home.
Your support will go directly toward helping Meir's family stay in their home during this unimaginably difficult time. Any help you can offer—whether it's a donation, a prayer, or simply doing something good to send positive energy for Meir's recovery—means the world to us. Thank you for standing with our family and helping us find hope.
