Project SEED comes to YIEN
What is Project SEED? Project SEED pairs Yeshiva students on summer break with diverse Jewish communities across the map. The community gains an infusion of Torah study, enthusiasm and Ruach (spirit), while the young scholars enjoy a pleasant getaway, gaining valuable experience and a taste of life in a different community. This is the first time in many years that YIEN has a SEED program of its own! The community extends a heartfelt welcome to:
who have spent the recent days studying Torah, making Minyanim, and enjoying all that this beautiful community has to offer. This Shabbos, they step up to serve as “Rabbis in Residence,” enhancing the Tefillah and Torah at our Shul with their scholarship and spirit. Over the course of the next week, we hope you will get a chance to meet each of them, and they will get a chance to meet each of you. Come for Minyan and sit down to study with one of our guests - or just drop in to enjoy the sight of the Shul filled with Torah study, heartfelt prayer, and warm friendship. Sunday, Aug 10
Monday, Aug 11 - Thursday, Aug 14
Friday, Aug 15
Thank you to Rabbi Ackerman for spearheading the program, inviting the SEED scholars and arranging accommodations, meals and activities. We wish Rabbi Ackerman Mazal Tov on the upcoming wedding of his brother this week (he will be attending the Aufruf this Shabbos.) Special thank you to community members who volunteered to host, sponsor or help in so many different ways. The list includes:
We apologize if we have inadvertently omitted anyone. We will publish a more complete list of thank-yous next week. |
